Stages of Labor is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: support@stagesoflabor.com.

• Account data — email address and authentication credentials. Used to create and secure your account and let both parents sign in. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
• Labor records — contraction times, timeline events, dilation values, and the notes you add. Used to provide the core logging and retrieval function. Legal basis: performance of our contract; for health data, your explicit consent, given by choosing to enter it.
• Essentials and birth plan — provider and hospital details, blood type, allergies, GBS status, relevant history, medications, pregnancy conditions, insurance and ID details, emergency contacts, pediatrician, and your written preferences. This is health data and special category data. Used only to display it back to you and to anyone you deliberately show your device to. Legal basis: your explicit consent. Every field starts blank — you choose what to enter.
• Share links — the tokens you generate and the tier you pick. Used to render a read-only status page for family. Legal basis: performance of our contract.
• Technical data — IP address, device and browser information, and error logs generated when you use the service. Used for security, fraud prevention, and fixing faults. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working service.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your health information for advertising or profiling. We do not share your medical details or birth plan with anyone through the share link — a shared page carries only labor status and milestones, and never your essentials or plan.

• Hosting and database providers — to store and serve your data (processors acting on our instructions).
• Email delivery providers — to send account and receipt emails.
• Professional advisers — legal or accounting advisers, where necessary.
• Authorities — where we are required to disclose by law.
• People you choose — anyone you send a share link to, limited to the tier you selected.

Our providers may process data outside your country, including outside the UK and EEA. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

We keep your account and labor records for as long as your account exists, so the record of your birth stays available to you. Delete your account or ask us to, and we erase your personal data — except records we must retain for tax and accounting purposes, typically for up to seven years. Share links expire on their own and can be revoked at any time.

Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time — withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out. You can export your full record from the app at any time.

Write to support@stagesoflabor.com and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your local supervisory authority.

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures: encryption in transit, encryption at rest with our database provider, row-level access rules so one account can never read another's data, and rate-limited sign-in. No system is perfectly secure, but your data is not accessible to other users of the app.

We use only essential cookies and local storage — those needed to keep you signed in and to operate checkout. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. You can clear them in your browser settings, though doing so will sign you out.

The service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children. A record you keep about your newborn is your data as a parent.

We may update this notice; the "last updated" date above will change and material changes will be highlighted in the app.
